]]> La Lucia Veterinary Clinic was started by Dr Mike Domisse over 40 years ago and had its humble beginnings in the Glenore Shopping Centre. In 1993 the clinic moved to Armstrong Avenue where its remained until in 1996 it found itself at the present site in Oakleigh Avenue , La Lucia. The clinic was taken over by the present owner Dr Bruce Kinghorn  in 1997 and is very fortunate to be supported by a dedicated and compassionate team of staff.

Listed below you will find some of the services we offer at La Lucia Veterinary Clinic.

We aim to offer superior veterinary medicine and endeavour to treat your pets as though they were our own.

We practice according the the highest standards of hygiene and sterility and employ the latest technology available with computerised record keeping and imaging.

Continuing education courses are attended on a regular basis by the vets and staff . All vets are registered with the South African Veterinary Council and need to maintain their registration status by attending points accredited courses and congresses.Our vets will endeavour to explain conditions in layman terms and with visual aids where possible

From time to time we are called on to attend to some interesting and wonderful exotic creatures and birds. Our Durban North clinic – RIVERSIDE VETERINARY CLINIC –specialises in this field and can be contacted on 031 563 6565. Together Dr. Kerry Easson and Dr Elsa van Biljon work hand in hand treating exotics as well as small animals.

 

“PAWSITIVE PUPPY SCHOOL“

Nikki, our practice manager, runs a puppy school from our La Lucia Veterinary Practice.

Puppies from the age of 12 weeks (or after receiving their second vaccination) to 20 weeks undergo a 6 week course of basic puppy training and socialisation. This is important for a well behaved and socially balanced puppy.

Puppies

Midlands Veterinary Clinic has a very exciting and fun-filled puppy class.

The puppy class or “Puppy School” meets every Saturday afternoon after 1300hrs at the small open on the open play ground across the road from the Midlands Veterinary Clinic

The class is very active and plenty of fun for owners and puppies.

Much socializing is done (people and puppies) But the school has attained a very high “pass rate” and all “students” have graduated with honors!

All puppies registering for the 6 week course qualify for discounts on their vaccinations and sterilization fees at Midlands Veterinary Clinic

]]> Peninsula Veterinary Hospital was started by Dr Jim Brownlie in the late 1940’s. He was soon joined by Dr Dick Hyam, a class mate from Glasgow University. The partnership expanded to include Fish Hoek Veterinary Clinic run by Drs Clive Mc Donald and Tim Pritchett helping clients from all over the Peninsula.

In 1975 the practice moved from Plumstead to the cottage in Diep River, and then in 1979 they moved into the purpose built hospital.Drs Brownlie and Hyam retired in 1986, with Robert becoming a partner with Clive and Tim in 1987.

In Peninsula Vet and Fish Hoek Vet partnership split with Mark and Rob staying at Diep River.

In 2003 the waiting room was extended to allow more retail space and in 2013 we extended into the old cottage to allow space for the isolation ward, grooming parlour and the rehab unit.

Peninsula Veterinary Hospital provides compassionate care for your beloved pet.
