Avimune (Pty) Ltd was established in 1995 following a management buyout of the Golden Lay health and biological services division.

The goal at Avimune has always been to render a comprehensive poultry veterinary health service to the South African poultry industry. Between 1995 and 2005 the practice grew to become the largest poultry veterinary practice in South Africa. As time passed, it became apparent that new business opportunities existed in the animal health and food industries, and a separate business entity should be formed.

In 2005 the laboratory and vaccine production units were separated from the specialist poultry veterinary practice as Deltamune (Pty) Ltd. Avimune’s preferred laboratory service provider is Deltamune, an ISO 17025 accredited company.

Services offered by Avimune

• Implementation, monitoring and auditing of Poultry Health & Production risk management plans.
• Establishing integrated biological feed quality systems based on good farming practices (GFP).
• Maintaining an electronic information management system to follow laboratory data trending and disease history, and also have a comprehensive database of relevant information.
• Applied research for poultry producers and pharmaceutical companies on-farm and in dedicated research facilities including Bio-Hazard Safety Level 3 (BSL-3) isolation units.

The George Animal Hospital is a mixed veterinary practice based in George in the Western Cape. History of the George Animal Hospital

The clinic initially opened its doors on the 15th of February 1991. We serve a large area in and around George in the Southern Cape. We are well staffed with 4 highly qualified veterinarians, 4 friendly efficient and knowledgeable receptionist and while your family pet is in hospital we have 4 well trained kennel staff to ensure that your pets have clean hygienic kennels and are walked outside (if allowed) to get some exercise and sun. In addition to this we have a well-stocked retail shop for all your pets premium food and accessory requirements. Our professional staff who regularly undergo product training are always ready to help with excellent service and good advice.

For your convenience the hospital works on an appointment basis so that waiting time is restricted to a minimum. We also offer an AFTER-HOURS emergency service 24/7 for our clients

Having four veterinarians on board at the clinic with each having their own unique interests, we are able to offer a wide variety of animal health care and veterinary services. We offer veterinary services as well as emergency veterinary services for all animals at any times. The hospital has a fully equipped veterinary surgery and pharmacy which enables us to provide excellent veterinary services in and around the George area during consultation hours or after hours (including weekends). Our appointment system also ensures that our clients can receive veterinary services for their animals at the George Animal Hospital without unnecessary delay or have to wait.

Midlands Veterinary Clinic began our story in the beginning of 1994. We started in a small humble house in Howick Main Street. In 1996 we built our current hospital and have been there since.

We are committed to providing compassionate care to all our patients, big or small. We see ourselves as leaders in animal welfare, nutrition and animal health.

We have a built essential relationships with our regular and faithful clients and their pets over the last 22 years and will continue to do so.

Puppies

Midlands Veterinary Clinic has a very exciting and fun-filled puppy class.

The puppy class or “Puppy School” meets every Saturday afternoon after 1300hrs at the small open on the open play ground across the road from the Midlands Veterinary Clinic

The class is very active and plenty of fun for owners and puppies.

Much socializing is done (people and puppies) But the school has attained a very high “pass rate” and all “students” have graduated with honors!

All puppies registering for the 6 week course qualify for discounts on their vaccinations and sterilization fees at Midlands Veterinary Clinic

The Poultry Practice is comprised of veterinarians focusing on Poultry Health and Production in a broad sense. Through close corroboration and involvement with our clients we seek to identify the specific needs and problems of each enterprise.
