Dr Estèe qualified at Onderstepoort in 2010. She worked in mixed animal practise in Brits until 2014 – where she gained a large amount of surgical experience; mainly because there were no referral centres close by! She also got to work with a very wide variety of species, but her favourite still remains dogs and cats. She got married in 2014 and moved to Pietermaritzburg with her husband, Chrisjan – an accountant, and her shadow, Trix – a miniature schnauzer. “It’s a blessing to be able to do what you love every day, and then get paid to do it! “

Puppy Socialization and Obedience classes

In order for your dog to be well adapted and confident, it needs to be exposed to experiences and situations so it can learn how to handle them in a safe and secure environment. Our Puppy Socialization classes are held on Saturday mornings and run over five weeks in which your puppy is exposed to other puppies and situations and encouraged to learn coping mechanisms. The original practice was started years ago by Dr Elbie Dalton and Dr William van Zyl and was called Doornkloof Dierekliniek. Tygerberg animal Hospital bought the facility and opened its doors on 2nd January 2013 under the name Moorreesburg Dierehospitaal. With one Veterinarian and a supporting staff of 7, the team work with pets, horses, farm animals and even some of the exotics in the area. Apart from the normal consultation, hospital and theatre, they also offer kennelling facilities for 45 dogs and 10 cats as well as grooming facilities

Our philosophy is the highest quality medical and surgical care, and treating each pet as if it were our own. In fact, our motto is ‘pets first’.

To promote long, healthy lives for pets, we believe in good communication between veterinarians and owners so that owners can make well-informed decisions about their pet’s health.

Ms Thuli Ngqakavu – Kennel and Hygiene Manager

Thuliwas born in King Williams Town in the Eastern Cape and moved to the Garden Route in 2003. She had been in the veterinary channel for 5 years before joining The Crags Vet Clinic.

She has extensive experience in handling of small animals and is in charge of the disinfection of our clinic. She is also responsible for the sterilization of surgical kits and general clinic cleanliness.

Her nursing skills are well developed and she is more than capable of helping Dr Snyman with Hospital cases.

Kim Harding

Born in Port Elizabeth and studied Nature Conservation. She moved to Plettenberg Bay 5 years ago. Kim has always been passionate about animals and has had extensive background both in equine and wildlife rehabilitation.
