Dr Jonathan Lewis and his wife, Sr Breggie Lewis, purchased the small practice in 2008, and immediately set about modernising it and purchasing in extra equipment, to bring the standard of care that could be offered up to a level to meet and surpass expectations of well informed pet owners.

The practice experienced significant growth, as the standard of patient care and range of services offered, was continuously improved.

Dr Lewis has comleted post-graduate studies to obtain an honours degree, and stays up to date by attending conferences on a wide range of topics.

At Shelly Beach Vet Hospital, we are able to assist with many types of procedures, from basic pedicures, to complex dental & surgical procedures, and most things inbetween!

All theatre patients are monitored by comprehensive patient monitoring equipment, assessing ECG, blood oxygen saturation, breathing, body temperature, and blood pressure if necessary. A qualified nurse assists with anaesthetics.

We are able to perform a wide range of surgical procedures, including routine sterilisations, and use modern, safe, human anaesthetics, ensuring a very high level of safety in our theatre, and rapid recovery for your pet. Most pets are discharged within 2-3 hours of surgery, fully awake and able to walk.
