Riverside Veterinary Clinic started from humble beginnings in 1965. Dr Kinghorn joined the practice in 1994 and subsequently became owner in 1996. In 1997 Dr Kinghorn took over our partner practice , La Lucia Veterinary Clinic, which is situated at 23 Oakleigh Avenue, La Lucia. Our Riverside Team consists of two veterinarians, a veterinary nurse, a practice manager, two receptionists and two hospital nursing assistants.

Riverside Veterinary Clinic is known for their love and experience with exotic animals. From cats and dogs to parrots and snakes, they take great pride in providing medical care to the unusual pets that come through their door. We aim to offer superior veterinary medicine and endeavour to treat your pets as though they were our own. We practice according the the highest standards of hygiene and sterility and employ the latest technology available with computerised record keeping and imaging. Continuing education courses are attended on a regular basis by the vets and staff . All vets are registered with the South African Veterinary Council and need to maintain their registration status by attending points accredited courses and congresses.Our vets will endeavour to explain conditions in layman terms and with visual aids where possible.

PUPPY SCHOOL

We started our Puppy School, “PAWSITIVE PUPPY SCHOOL“ in November 2013, Nikki our practice manager runs this school from our La Lucia practice, every Saturday at 6.30am. Puppies from 12 weeks of age (or after receiving their second vaccination) to 5 months of age undergo a 6 week course of basic puppy training and socialisation. This is important for a well behaved and socially balanced puppy.
