Drakenstein Veterinary Clinic
[ratemypost]
The Drakenstein Veterinary Clinic is a purpose-built facility that offers in-house as well as ambulatory services for companion animals including small animals and horses. In 2006, Dr. Ian Heyns founded the Drakenstein Veterinary Clinic with the assistance of major role players in the South African Thoroughbred breeding industry.
Today, with our team of highly experienced veterinarians and a well-educated, dedicated support staff with a variety of specialities and interests, we provide unparalleled veterinary care in the Western Cape, South Africa. State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment include digital ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy, laser, digital radiography, scintigraphy, and a high-speed treadmill.
Hospitilisation of both small animals and horses are catered for and full surgical facilities are available 24/7 for routine and emergency surgeries including soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics. We have a full diagnostic laboratory that is capable of processing blood samples day or night. Our ambulatory services extend from the Boland region to the Cape Winelands.
We remain committed to providing our clients and their companion animals with the best possible diagnostic and therapeutic interventions at the Drakenstein Veterinary Clinic.
About the Drakenstein Veterinary Centre Small Animal Clinic
The Drakenstein Small Animal Clinic officially opened in October 2012. We handle a wide variety of disorders of body systems such as cardiac, dermatological, endocrine, gastrointestinal, haemodynamic, hepatic, metabolic, musculoskeletal, neurologic, ophthalmic, renal and respiratory. Some of these disorders are acute or chronic and may necessitate a prolonged recovery in our hospitalisation ward. Dedicated, well-trained veterinary nurses and interns provide 24/7 high-level care for all companion animals that are admitted to the Drakenstein Small Animal Clinic. All procedures, medications and treatments are specifically individualised for each companion animal under the expert supervision of our veterinarians.
The Drakenstein Small Animal Clinic operates out of the same building as the Equine Clinic, and boasts two consultation rooms, a procedure room and a dedicated surgical theatre with a ward for hospitalisation of your companion animal. The medicine service boasts state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, including digital ultrasound, ECG, endoscopy, digital radiography and scintigraphy. All blood samples are processed by our in-house diagnostic laboratory. The new surgery suite is equipped with ECG machines, blood pressure monitoring devices, fluid infusion pumps, pulse oximetry and mechanical ventilators.
The Drakenstein Small Animal Clinic is open for consultation from 08h00 to 18h00 during the week, and 09h00 to 12h00 on Saturdays. We always have an expert veterinarian on standby for emergency consultation 24/7, 365 days of the year. Your companion animal is constantly monitored through the night by our nursing assistants and interns.
Dr. Adi Graiser graduated in 2009 (University of Pretoria).
