Dr. Frank Freeman BVSc
Dr. Freeman founded Ceres Veterinary Hospital 53 years ago. He is one of the most experienced equine reproductive vets in the world. Dr. Freeman founded the Boland Stud, a very successful Thouroughbred Stud in the Western Cape. His special interests are equine reproduction, toxicology and pathology. For personalised, practical advice on management and farming methods as well as parasite control programs give Dr. Freeman a call.
Dr. Nel-Mari Wium BVSc, FEI2*
Dr. Wium has a special talent for compiling practical management and vaccination programs for local cattle and sheep farmers. She also performs almost all types of surgery on dogs and cats, including cruciate ligament repairs. Dr. Wium's interests include equine, production animal and wildlife work. She is a regular veterinarian at endurance rides and breeds Arabian horses. Dr Wium is married with twins and lives in the Witzenberg valley.
Dr. Hannelu De Villiers BSVc (Hons)
Dr. De Villiers completed her honours in Equine ophthalmology, surgery, reproduction and anaesthesiology. She has a special interest in small animal and equine medicine and equine reproduction and has had excellent results with artificial insemination techniques in horses. She is well known in the "Saddler" circles, being a former provincial rider and runs Boland Stud with her husband Eugene and their 2 children.
Dr. Kobus Scheepers BVSc
We would like to welcome Dr. Scheepers as the latest partner at the practice. He is a great all rounder, but especially enjoys production animal work and herd health. He also has a special interest in exotic animals.
Dr. Johani Pieterse BVSc
The friendly Dr. Pieterse is excellent with small animal medical cases. She also does a lot of wildlife work. She is well known in endurance circles, having ridden competitively at a number of endurance rides including the legendary Fauresmith 200km.
