Animal Emergency Clinic: Parklands
[ratemypost]
Welcome to the Animal Emergency Clinic, Parklands.
The Animal Emergency Clinic Parklands started out as the “Animal Emergency Centre” more than 30 years ago. The idea of the founding veterinarians was to provide a continuous service to clients and their pets when their regular vet was closed. Since then our name changed to the “Animal Emergency Clinic Parklands” and then to our current name. Parklands Clinic started out as a one room practice operated on a non-profit basis; today we are able to boast an up to date facility with the latest state of the art equipment, and clinical staff that is able to utilise these facilities to assist in a prompt and decisive treatment of a traumatically ill patient. Our facility has a separate Reception area, Consult room, Food Hall, Idexx supported in house lab with advanced haematology equipment, a Prep area, the state of the art theatre that can handle any form of trauma and regular surgical procedures, an air conditioned hospital with recovery facilities, neonatal incubator, Isolation facility, a separate x ray and Ultra sound room a board room for clinical discussion and an up to date library. We are also equipped with a store room and Generator facility should we suffer from power outages.
Mission at Animal Emergency Clinic Parklands
To deliver prompt, personalised emergency care whenever a patient's regular veterinarian is unavailable, and to encourage pet owners to take preventative measures.
Vision
To eliminate the incidence of preventable emergencies in the suburb of Parkwood.
Animal Emergecy Clinic Parklands is a private veterinary facility which specializes in providing prompt, personalized care when a pet's regular veterinarian is unavailable.
How we function
All cases are seen with the least possible delay, but cases of extreme urgency are, at the discretion of the clinic staff, given priority in particular where the clinic has been advised beforehand that the case will be brought in. When urgent and comprehensive treatment is required, intensive care is given until the owner can transfer the case to a practice of their choice. The vet on duty will supply a record of diagnosis and treatment given.
Fees
As determined in the fee schedule of the South African Veterinary Council, an after-hours surcharge must be included in the fee. The staff will be pleased to give you an estimate of the cost before the treatment is started. The owner or whoever represents him will be asked to sign an agreement authorising treatment, and whereby liability for the cost is accepted. The fees are payable upon conclusion of the consultation or at transfer of the patient out of the clinic. Cash or credit cards are accepted. We regret that no cheques can be accepted and no accounts are allowed.
